Herbestemming

A church centralized in a multicultural district gets conversed into a knowledge centre where meeting and interaction are central. A collection of different functions answering to the needs of the neighbourhood are taking shape. This assembly is brought to one whole with one common ground: books.

The closed volume of the facade is cleared, whereby the frontier between exterior / interior is fading and the plaza gets integrated. The interior itself is scanned with new volumes and terraces which are coated with beech wall panels. Their strict rhythm may be interrupted creating holes for books.
